Lorna Crozier
How Do You Grow a Poet?
Lorna Crozier’s early morning breakfast talk will uncover what led a Saskatchewan girl from a home without books, painting or music to make a life out of writing and reading poetry for the love of it. Lorna has received a Governor General’s Award for her writing and has also been honoured for both teaching and scholarly research in the academic community, receiving the University of Victoria’s Distinguished Professor’s Award in 2004. On May 19, 2005, as part of Saskatchewan’s Centennial Celebration, Lorna gave a command performance complete with orchestral and visual accompaniment, reciting a poem for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
